I am an Integrative Body Psychotherapist, member of UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and EABP (European Association for Body Psychotherapy) with more than 20 years’ experience as an individual psychotherapist and counsellor. Clients from Oxford, Oxfordshire and beyond are coming to me for professional counselling, psychotherapy and trauma work as well as specialised EMDR.
I offer a warm, safe and supportive environment in which people can explore their feelings, behavioural and relational patterns as well as somatic symptoms. By taking a flexible, integrative approach I aim to engage and offer to each person a process that will support his/her unique journey in life.
In my work I integrate my experience as a body-centred therapist with my psychodynamic understanding of unconscious processes. I aim to address the ‘whole’ person: body, feelings, mind and spirit and therefore include physical, emotional and mental processes in the therapeutic process. My methods and techniques include Gestalt, body work, guided imagery, dreamweaving, EMDR, somatic trauma therapy, family constellations, mindfulness and more.
I work with a wide range of issues and problems such as: depression, anxiety, eating disorders, Post Traumatic Stress, early childhood traumas, psychosomatic symptoms, relationship problems, lack of motivation or direction, bereavement and loss, sexual identity, etc.
I also offer support to people seeking therapy for personal development, and to those going through life changing events.
Sessions are 50 minutes long, and take place in my consulting room in Oxford. I usually arrange sessions on a weekly basis, but occasionally offer sessions twice or three times a week.
I currently charge on a sliding scale between £70 and £80 per session for weekly psychotherapy; reduced fee arrangements are occasionally possible.
The next step
If you would like to explore the possibility of psychotherapy with me, please send me an email or phone me on 07779 593 546 to arrange an assessment session. In this session we will discuss your issues and expectations of therapy and you will have the chance to ask any questions you may have and to form an impression of me. We will then decide whether we would like to continue working together. The fee for that session is on a sliding scale between £70 and £80.
